Pistol to PDW in 9 easy steps
01
Before we begin...
Remove the magazine from your Springfield Armory Echelon and unload firearm. Confirm that the firearm is clear...don't be that person.
Lock your slide to the rear and rotate the disassembly lever clockwise into the vertical down 6 o'clock position.
Pull the slide slightly to the rear to release the slide stop lever, then slowly move the slide forward while maintaining tension and remove from the grip module.
02
Next...
Remove the disassembly lever halfway by applying pressure with the tip of your finger, then rotate the lever clockwise while applying pressure until the disassembly lever is removed.
Lift the slide stop levers, depress the trigger enough to deactivate the trigger safety and slide the COG forward while maintaining minimal upward pressure on the slide stop levers.
Lift the front part of the COG, and at the same time lower the rear part and remove it from the grip.
03
Nitty gritty time
On the inside of the frame, in the opening for the magazine, push the square shape towards the back and pull the interchangeable backstrap down until it disengages from the frame.
With your index finger, put slight pressure on the magazine catch. Using the integrated pin on the backstrap, push the magazine catch pin out and remove it from the frame. While keeping pressure on the magazine catch, remove the backstrap from the frame and slowly release the pressure until the magazine catch is removed.
04
Let's start installing
Insert the magazine catch and spring (they are still attached right?) into the magazine catch spring space in the cavity of the HGM724. Press down slightly until the Magazine catch hole is aligned with the magazine catch holes on the HGM724. Insert the magazine catch pin until centered in the grip module.
05
Now to the heart of the matter
Position the COG into the opening of the rear shroud. Insert the “tabs” at the lower front of the COG into the opening of the grip. Depress the trigger enough to deactivate the trigger safety and rotate the rear of the COG downward and then press rearward. The slide stop levers will drop into their recesses in the grip.
NOTE: Make sure the slide stop lever pin is correctly oriented.
Position the take down lever and then press inward while slightly twisting the lever clockwise. Once the lever is partially installed, rotate the lever until you are able to press it flush to the frame. Rotate the lever clockwise to the vertical down position.
06
Now we are getting somewhere
Insert the slide onto the front guide rails and move the slide to it's most rearward position. Push the slide lock up to lock the slide to the rear.
Rotate the disassembly lever counter-clockwise to the normal (locked) position and lower the slide.
07
The icing on the cake
Using a T10 Torx driver, remove the two screws that retain the cover plate and remove the plate from the slide. Be aware of the 2 removable pins that are in the slide or possibly retained in the plate. Set the removable pins and cover plate aside and install the supplied Heighth Defense Charging Handle with the removed screws.
08
Almost there
To install a 1913/picatinny rail onto the back of the Heighth Grip Module, HGM724, separate the M-Lok screws from the T-Nuts and insert the T-Nuts into the recesses in the rear of the HGM724. Seat the rail section onto the opposite side as the T-Nuts and install the screws to 15 in/lbs.
09
Dress it up like a Barbie doll
You can now install any M-Lok accessories you wish.
Note: A 5 slot M-Lok rail can be installed onto the top of the rear shroud to accommodate your desired sight. **M-Lok to Red dot adapters are coming soon.
Note: Some M-Lok accessory screws may need to be shortened to prevent interference with the slide.
